The Nepali Congress has suspended its Bara District President, Rajesh Rai Yadav, over allegations of violating party discipline.

The party’s Central Disciplinary Committee decided on Thursday to suspend Yadav from his position until a final decision is reached. He is accused of working against the party’s official candidate during elections held last Falgun.

The party had sought explanations from Yadav twice, but he failed to respond on both occasions. According to party secretary Dinesh Thapa Magar, the suspension was imposed pending further investigation in accordance with party rules.

Yadav is among 16 individuals recommended for disciplinary action, and the party said investigations into alleged anti-party activities will continue.
