A 17-year-old boy was found dead in the Inarwasira area of Ward No. 19 of Jitpur Simara Sub-Metropolitan City in Bara district on Thursday.
According to Police Inspector Prakash Thapa of the Simara Area Police Office, local residents spotted the body at around 4:30 p.m. and informed the police. A police team that arrived at the scene recovered the body of the teenager.
The deceased has been identified as Akash Mahato, 17, the son of Jayaram Mahato, a resident of Dohari Tole, Ward No. 2 of Kalaiya Sub-Metropolitan City.
The body has been sent to the Provincial Hospital in Kalaiya for a post-mortem examination.
Police said the cause of death has not yet been determined and that an investigation is underway.
According to the family, Akash Mahato had left home on Wednesday morning (Asar 24) to buy clothes and had not returned.
