Pokhara, June 20 – The (Aam Janata Party  (AJP) has called on the government to remove taxes imposed on education, healthcare, and electricity.

A meeting of the party’s Kaski District Committee in Pokhara stated that taxing essential services such as education and healthcare is inappropriate, as these are fundamental rights guaranteed by the Constitution.

Kaski District Chairperson Manu Gurung said the government should focus on making citizens’ lives easier rather than increasing their financial burden. The party urged the government to immediately withdraw the taxes imposed on these basic services.

The meeting was attended by AJP Co-Chair and former Constituent Assembly member Tilak Thapa Magar, along with other central and provincial leaders.
