One Arrested in Bara with 4.6 kg of Marijuana

Bara Police have arrested a man in possession of 4.6 kilograms of marijuana.

The arrested individual has been identified as 30-year-old Nais Babu Tamang of Chakari, Ward No. 22 of Jitpur Simara Sub-Metropolitan City, Bara.

According to the District Police Office, Bara, a police team led by Senior Sub-Inspector Prakash Kumar Khatri from the Area Police Office, Amlekhganj, conducted a security check near the suspension bridge in Chakari on Tuesday. During the inspection, police stopped and searched an auto-rickshaw (registration number Na 2 Ha 1160) traveling from Chakari towards Amlekhganj on suspicion.

During the search, police recovered 4.6 kilograms of marijuana wrapped in black plastic and packed in two bundles inside a brown striped bag carried by Tamang. He was immediately taken into custody.

Police Deputy Superintendent Min Bahadur Ghale, the information officer of the District Police Office, Bara, said that the seized marijuana, the auto-rickshaw, and the suspect have been taken under control for further investigation.
