Two persons arrested in connection with the murder of CPN cadre Mukesh Chaurasia have been remanded in custody. After a heated debate in the Parsa District Court, a bench of Justice Narayan Prasad Sharma remanded Ashesar Prasad Chaurasia alias Akhilesh and Niranjan Tiwari alias Uttam in custody for trial.
A bail of Rs 2 lakh has been demanded from Hanif Miah and Deva Sahani. He was released on bail on Wednesday. Mukesh was seriously injured in a clash between the two parties at the swearing-in ceremony of the Bindabasini Village Committee on Kartik 06.
Mukesh died the next day while undergoing treatment. Case was registered against 28 people, including a child, from both sides for their involvement in the incident. Based on the police’s opinion report, the government prosecutor’s office had not filed a case against seven people, including Constituent Assembly member Raj Kumar Gupta.
