Women are holding pressure-based programs in various cities of Province No. 2 including Bara with Take action against the rapist, give justice to the rape victim and other slogans.
According to women’s rights activists, the state government and the police administration have remained silent on the issue of heinous crimes such as rape and no one has shown interest in bringing justice to the victims.
At present, the incidents of rape are widespread in the country, but the situation in State 2 seems to be more dire than others. Though the ‘Bet Padhau Beti Bachau’ Campaign has been launched in Province 2, the increasing incidents of rape and violence have shown that women in Province No. 2 are insecure everywhere.
It has been felt that the incidents of rape are increasing day by day and are being exposed as a perversion of the society. Civilized society, disciplined citizens and organized civilization are the basis of development of these societies. Women’s rights activist, Bibha Karki, said that the question mark has been raised over the civilized society and dignified men as the corruption in the society has been increasing recently.
She said that the daughter would not be safe unless the constitution amended and the rapist would not be punished by hanging.
